Describe the product and its supports
Provide cargo dimensions, weight distribution, points of contact and any sensitive surfaces. Include the completed load’s height and overhang. The packaging designer needs to understand how the product rests on the deck, not just its total weight.
Map the handling lane
List forklift and pallet-jack use, entry directions, conveyors, storage supports and receiving equipment. Tell the supplier whether the pallet will cross an international border. These conditions belong in the specification before a design is accepted.
Ask for a documented design review
Request the relevant load assumptions, tolerances and evidence from a qualified supplier. Confirm how a sample or drawing will be approved. This enquiry tool prepares the brief; it does not engineer or certify a custom pallet.
Keep these questions together
- Measure the unit load
- Document handling equipment
- State destination requirements
