Identify the supports
Record whether the deck is supported by blocks or longitudinal stringers and photograph the entry openings. That description is more useful than guessing a construction from the pallet’s outside size. Include any notches or repairs visible on the supports.
Match the handling sequence
Describe forklift and pallet-jack use, direction of entry, conveyors and storage supports. Entry access and equipment clearance must be checked on the actual design. A construction name alone does not establish compatibility with every machine in the lane.
Make repairs part of the description
Ask the supplier or qualified assessor what repairs and defects are permitted for the intended use. A repaired member can affect acceptance even when the pallet still looks square. Preserve the receiver’s requirements in the purchase or recovery brief.
Keep these questions together
- Check forklift entry
- Confirm conveyor fit
- Inspect critical members
